Bridgefield U17 Boys team were victorious at the Northern League 2002's Tournament on Saturday in Maltby.

They faced off against Sedgefield B, Durham and Grantham in the group matches, followed by a semi final against City of Sheffield and Final match against Sedgefield A. All scores below.

Making his coaching debut Mike Kelly, took the U15s Squad to Europa pools. With a strong turnout off the back of the ASA Nationals, our boys where too strong for all opposition and brought home the trophy.

Warrington hosted the Cheshire Mini Polo Festival on Saturday evening. Bridgefield entered hoping to retain the shield. Meeting Sedgefield in the final proved to be too strong. Bridgefield took home the silver medal but still had a smile on our face!

Bridgefield U13s won the 2016 Liverpool and District Mini Polo Festival. Captain George Jones received player of the tournament and Mike Dixon and Marcus Woods where joint top scorers.

The Boys 03 Squad attended a 4 day tournament in Spain run by "Be Water My Friend". With matches against Hungarian, German, Spanish the squad got stronger with each match. The highlight of the competition was when our boys beat the Scottish National Team.

Our U13 Mini-Polo'ers had a great day today at the Manchester Water Polo Festival. After a tight start in the group stage with a narrow win over a ORCA & Stretford combined team, they went on to win their other group stage matches comfortably. The team went on to win their quarter-final, but lost out in the semi-final to St. Ambrose who went on to take Gold in the Final. We finished the day with a win to take home the Bronze medal, in the most dramatic clash of the day. After going 2-0 down before half time, the team showed composure and character to go ahead 3-2 in the second half. The match ended at full time all tied up at 4-4. The penantly shootout was 3 a piece, with our captain and goalkeeper standing up to put the first penalty in the back of the net, he then went on to save all three of their opposing team's penalties! Resulting in a 5-4 win and Bronze medal well deserved.

British Water Polo League have released fixtures for Phase One of the competition starting in September.

Bridgefield Senior Men's team will once again be competiting in Division 4.

​

Phase One dates are: 

17/18th September - Sheffield

15/16th October - Marlborough College

3rd/4th December - Grantham

Bridgefield U13s became Manchester & District Mini-Polo Champions for the 2nd year running after a strong performance and unbeaten Tournament.

​

In the group stages Bridgefield beat Radcliffe 4-3 (Bett 3, Dixon 1) and Chester 10-0 (Bett 2, Dixon 3, Higgins 3, Davis 2). In the semi final Bridgefield met Tyldesley, beating them 4-0 (Bett 3, Dixon 1). The other semi final seen Warrington beat Radcliffe. It was a well contested final against Warrington and ended 2-1 (Bett 2).

​

Final positions: 1st Bridgefield, 2nd Warrington, 3rd Tyldesley, 4th Radcliffe, 5th Liverpool, 6th Chester

​

Top goal scorer for Bridgefield was Charlie Bett and Tournament MVP was Bridgefield goalkeeper George Jones.

Bridgefield 03/04 Boys Squad will travel to Lloret de Mar (near Barcelona) in August 2016 to compete in an International Tournament. There will be twenty teams from all around Europe including CN Matero (Spain), RN Salerno (Italy) and VK Jug Dubrovnik (Croatia).

Congratulations to a select Bridgefield senior squad who attended the Brian Walsh Memorial Trophy tournament hosted by Blackpool WP. With impressive victories in the group stages, they met Lancaster in a close final, but edged ahead in the last minute for a 3-2 win. Roger Kennedy also picked up Top Goal Scorer.

After beating Manchester B and Beckenham in the prelims, our U17 boys progressed to the Qualifier round where they met Sheffield, Caledonia and Cwm Draig.

The very young squad, most if whom will play in the U15 competition in October, gained valuable playing experience. Unfortunately, we will not progress to the finals this time but top 8 in our debut year isn’t a bad start – well done boys!

Bridgefield have entered the ASA U17s Boys champioonship. The prelimary draw has but us in group B with City of Manchester B Team, Beckenham and Watford. The competition will be on Sunday 6th March in Blackpool.

For the 3rd year running the Senior Team have won both L&D Senior League and Cup. In addition they have also won the B&D League, which they entered for the first time this season and where also runners up in the Cup Final.
